OPENING NIGHT WITH DANCE & POETRY

At the Firehouse North Art & Event gallery 1790 Shattuck Avenue, once again a stellar party. With awesome food & drink, lively mingling, dance performances and poetry.
Kelli Hill danced homage to Yamaya, the goddess of the ocean in Santeria tradition, to send prayer for healing and purification to the gulf coast area.

Poetry read by Chris Hawkins, co-manager of the Firehouse East and Devadatta, new to the Firehouse community with his two babies in tow.

Costumes are always encouraged, so Firehouse creative arts director Tom Franco and Firehouse North assistant manager Julia Lazar obliged.

New art studio member at the "North" Louise Valleur brought her interns and board members of "Paintbrush Diplomacy" another addition to the Collective, renting office space at the gallery. Super cool, and cross disciplinary, true to intent.

The art by Grier Cooper, Jude Swafford, Tom Franco as well as jewelry & ceramics by Joolz are available throughout the month of June.
We have extended summer hours, so please do stroll by, visit and contribute to co creating community and culture, one day at the time. Wednesday through Sunday 1 to 7pm...often staying open longer.
The "North" is also available to rent for events, so please consider it when planning parties, classes, lectures, music events and groups. At an affordable $ 25 per hour.
Call Julia Lazar at 510 593 0733 to schedule your event.
