WORKSHOP EVENT: "POETRY IN HUMOR"

Artship's friend and guest Reinhardt Horstkotte from Berlin Germany, gave a dynamic, informative and yes, FUN workshop at the Firehouse North in Berkeley.
Leading us through history, the archetype of the Jester, Joker, Fool, Clown was evoked and poetically came alive for and inside the participants including the author.

Check back for future workshops here on this blog.

DEVIN OATWAY at Firehouse North, Berkeley through February 2010

"DEVIN OATWAY has a sincerity of mark making that stands him out from the crowd. I can look at his pieces for a long time." says Tom Franco, director of the Firehouse Art Collective.
Devin has an ongoing relationship with the FAC over the last 4 years.

Opening night, at the Firehouse North gallery & event space, was a sweet experience of enjoying good company surrounded by these cool and totally affordable paintings.

"JOURNEY THROUGH A DREAM" ...a dream come true for the new Firehouse South Gallery space

Friday Feb 5, the Firehouse South gallery & Event space opened it's door for the first time with Alan Chin's BFA Thesis exhibition for the California College of the Arts.
Alan has spent the weeks leading up to this show at the 3k square foot  space installing and painting.

"Opening night felt like a dream scape with luminaries of the art world, dancing free form with rising stars in local community"

John Toki of Leslie Ceramics who continually mentors upcoming sculptors.
Raymond Saunderswho donates his time to help spread the Visual process of art to many communities throughout the world, while being Professor of Painting at CCA.
Joyce Gordon, who brought a bottle of the finest, to celebrate with her god-son Alan.
Tom Franco, director of Firehouse Art Collective: " Journey through a dream" was the perfect opening show for the FAC. Alan captured the spirit of the space and transformed it into a noteworthy show-that shows off his artistic and curatorial skills. The guests thought it was at least four to five artists, when it really was Alan's Solo show".

The show is available for private viewing through the month of February.
